On that note, 'tis the day for Yuletide reveal, and first and foremost let me gloat over my gifts—I always meant to do a rec list, but then, whoops, lazy—I got two Borgia fics because the world is good to me:
Mine Eyes Dazzle (by La Reine Noire, fuck yes she's famous, she's like the historical fiction queen, I sort of wondered if this was hers? Anyway, woman is fabulous—she's also the queen of historical!AU and clearly I just want to be her forever—and her synopsis is a Measure for Measure quote and she had me from there on out. And it is 8K with footnotes and giant and fabulous and, just, YESSSSS~)
& et in hora mortis nostrae (byvega_ofthe_lyre, and DO WE EVEN NEED TO TALK ABOUT HOW PERFECTLY EMOTIONALLY RESONANT THIS IS? It's like a checklist of everything in the history that's calibrated for me to flail over years on end, WEDDING DANCES AND NEPI AND FOOTHOLDING OH MY, written in Emma's ridiculously beautiful prose. My heart can't even. Not even a bit of even-ing.)
And I wrote Shakespearean genderfrolic!
Viola, being Cesario, and being terribly twinny with Sebastian. Such unbelievable fun to write, you guys.
